RoHS Compliant Conversion Coating
There is growing pressure around the world, particularly in Europe to reduce the use of hexavalent chromium. To this end, many organisations are phasing out their use of chromate conversion coatings. Metal Finishings Limited fully agree with this move and are supporting customers in doing this.
We offer a treatment that replicates some of the key useful qualities of the chromate film. Our treatment provides:
- superior corrosion resistance to chromate films
- superior electrical conductivity
- similarly paintable surface
Specifically, we use a product called Iridite NCP. This has been used for a number of years by many throughout the industry. Iridite NCP actually goes one step further than the requirements of RoHS and contains no chromium at all (rather than simply no hexavalent chromium).
