Chromate conversion coatings (sometimes refered to by the proprietary names Alocrom, Iridite and Surfos) are very versatile surface treatments and suitable for use on aluminium. The main chromate conversion coating that we provide is the yellow Alocrom 1200 process, but we also provide the Alocrom 1000 process. Alocrom is marketed under the name Alodine outside of the UK, both products are made by Henkel and are the same except for the name. Drawings calling for Alodine can be coated with Alocrom and vice versa. Our Alocrom 1200 and Alocrom 1000 treatments are compliant to MIL-DTL-5541 (previously MIL-C-5541), have been qualified according to MIL-DTL-81706 and are listed on MIL-QPL-81706.

RoHS Compliance

Alocrom 1200 and Alocrom 1000 are not RoHS compliant. We offer RoHS compliant alternatives to both Alocrom 1200 and Alocrom 1000.
